PRO-SHOP NEWS
Happy New Year from the Pro shop staff, David, Grant and myself. We are hoping for a good one with an end to this long, long. rainy spell. What ever happened to cold bright frosty mornings? However, a brief report on last seasons golf from the Professional Staff.
DAVID
After a superb 64 (-7) in the first round of the Lancashire Open at Blackpool North Shore. David had to settle for a 3rd place finish on134 (-8) and his biggest career cheque to date. He followed up with a win on the Leigh Pro Am and good finishes at Hesketh and Burnham Park.
GRANT
A disappointing finish at the European Tour School ended a good season. Wins on the Tamsel and Excel tours, a pro am win at Cavendish suggests big things and a possible return to the European Tour. Having scored -11 for 72 holes in Fourqual (1) Grant fell at the second stage in Spain. Hopefully this is only a temporary setback and Grant will Harden is resolve for the 2007 season.
TONY
Don't ask!!! To be fair, last season was the least golf I've ever played due to family commitments and with the arrival of twins, I expect more of the same for 2007.
On the Junior section, Grant and myself ran several coaching sessions in 2006 and we were more than pleasantly surprised. After several quiet seasons on the Junior front, we have got a much keener vibrant section than I have ever seen at Brookdale. I have high expectations for 2007 from Sam Carrol, Luke Ford, Luke Morgan, Ben McLoughlin and others currently waiting in the wings, keep up the good work lads!!!
THE PRO-SHOP
Year on year all retail is getting tougher. All we ask is to give us a chance. If we haven't got something in stock, we can almost always get it.
I would like to close by wishing everybody a Healthy and Happy New Year and an enjoyable golfing season.
BEST WISHES FROM TONY, DAVID AND GRANT.
